Sometimes, it can feel like the only place we can make friends is the place our world seems to revolve around: school. That can feel lonely if you don’t have a lot in common with your classmates. Let’s talk about some other places you can find your people.

Online. One of the best things about the internet is that we can meet people from all over the world with all kinds of interests.  Try connecting with your social media mutual, hopping in a gaming live stream, or finding a message board about your favorite topic. Just make sure you’re doing so safely!

Blast from the past. Did you have someone you grew up with? Or maybe someone who moved away? Try reaching out to reconnect and catch up!

Family. Sometimes our siblings or cousins can turn out to be our best friends! Try hanging with a family member outside of your next family gathering and see what happens.

Community groups. Next time you find yourself at your spiritual community place, the library, or near a community center look into what youth groups they may have. It’s a quick, easy, free way to meet people your age in your area that already have a common interest.
