Quarantine makes me feel lonely. But being able to see my friends again — over Zoom, through socially-distanced hangouts outside, and at school through virtual learning — has helped me feel a little more normal. For me, normalcy is one of the best things right now. Friends need to be physically distant but they don’t have to feel emotionally distant.

Amelia Scott is thirteen years old and, after living in Michigan and Montana, she now lives in Durango, Colo.
